Poway Cruisers News:  (5/18/13)

5/18/13 – There were 19 Poway Cruisers attended the Run To The Hills #11 charity car show in Pine Valley. The weather was sunny but at times it was a little nippy in the morning. There were about 300 cars at the charity event. Congratulations to Chuck Kramer for winning an award for his 1930 Chevy Woodie. Also, Hollywood & Vine won an award for their 1956 Chevy Bel Air 4 dr hardtop. George & Pat Griffin and the Monday Nite Car Club did a wonderful job on their annual charity car show. There were 200 raffles and 38 sponsored awards and 2 Best of Show. On a disappointed note, the Over The Hill Gang of San Diego received the Club Participation award for 23 cars. We only missed it by 4 cars. Please click here for the photos.

 5/16/13 – The current Poway Cruisers monthly activities calendar is reinstated back to the “Calendar Events” page or please click here. Tonight, there were 46 members attended the 3rd Thursday Monthly Club Meeting at the Hamburger Factory in Poway. We hope to see other club members at the next 3rd Thursday on June 20, 2013. All visitors are welcome to attend the meeting. I, Hollywood, your humble Webmaster, would like to thank the Poway Cruisers and the Steering Committee for presenting the recognition award to me last night at the Club Meeting for revamping and maintaining the Poway Cruisers web site. 

5/4/13 – The Poway Cruisers In-N-Out Burger Cruise-In had 70 cars and 10 new members joined the Poway Cruisers. The weather was excellent. Click here for the photos.

4/28/13 – There were 11 Poway Cruisers caravanned from Mercado Shopping Center to Bates Nut Farm for the Heartbeat Happenings XV car show. The weather was excellent. The Lion’s Club pancake breakfast was great. Also, the pancake breakfast money take in by the Lion’s club for their charity was a record for this year. Congratulations to Earl Asbury for winning a trophy for his 1929 Ford Model A Delivery Sedan . 4/6/13 - The Poway Cruisers In-N-Out Burger Cruise-In had 40 cars and 4 new members joined the Poway Cruisers. The weather was party cloudy and nice. The photos are uploaded in the “Photo Gallery” for viewing. On this morning, 10 current members had their classic cars picture taken in front of In-N-Out Burger. The member car photos will be uploaded in “Members Classics” page.

3/31/13 – April 7, 2013 will be the Annual Poway Spring Family Festival (former Poway Spring Street Fair). The Poway Chamber is really trying to make this a big success. If you like to support, please bring your car (all years, makes, and models) to the California Coast Credit Union parking lot. Please see the “Calendar Events” page for more information. We thank Karen Dunn aka Madame Mechanic  from Poway Transmission for sharing this information with the club.

3/29/13 – This is a reminder for the current members who did not have his or her car/truck picture taking in front of In-N-Out Burger will have this last and final opportunity on April 6, 2013 between 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Also, e-mails have been sent out as a reminder to the current members.

3/27/13 – On March 22, 2013, Hollywood & Vine caravan with several classic car friends on our annual trip to the Sunrunners 29th Annual Carne Asada Run car show in Imperial, CA. The weather was great. The event location was changed from Sunbeam Lake to Eager Park. We parked our 56 Chevy Bel Air on the grass with our friends. Later on a 73 Dodge Challenger parked next to us and we found out that this couple, Cliff & Lynne Cunningham are the newest members of the Poway Cruisers. Excitements came later when Cliff & Lynne found a big gold star on the Challenger windshield for the “Best of Show”. Cliff was shaken but not stir. Congratulations to Cliff & Lynne for the trophy win. There were 130 cars attended the event. 3/2/13 – The Poway Cruisers In-N-Out Burger Cruise-In had 72 cars and 4 new members joined the Poway Cruisers. The weather was warm, sunny, and blue sky. The photos are uploaded in the “Photo Gallery” for viewing. On this morning, 10 current members had their classic cars picture taken in front of In-N-Out Burger. The member car photos were uploaded in “Members Classics” page. On April 6, 2013 between 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM will be the last opportunity for the current members to have his or her car/truck picture taken in front of In-N-Out Burger.

3/1/13 - A car show article contributed by Travis Williams aka Maverick was uploaded in “Past Events” page. It was the All American Pow Wow Car Show held on 10/21/12 at the Embarcadero Park North in San Diego. The link for the All American Pow Wow Car Show article is located on the left side bar under “Past Events”. Thank you Travis for the contribution.

3/3/13 – Added weather forecast on the “Home” page.

2/22/13 – At the bottom of each web page shows the “Visitor Counter”. The “Visitor Counter” displays two views; one for “US Flags” and the other is “Country Flags”. The “Visitor Counter” was inserted into the web page on January 5, 2013. As of today, the “Visitor Counter” shows 28 “US Flags” and 16 “Country Flags” and over 5000 page views. That’s an average of 106 page views a day. If you click on one of the “Visitor Counter”, it will show the details of the visitors/flags.

2/16/13 – The home page is now contains the club news and information, and web site updates. The Poway Cruisers Car Club history and mission statement is located in the new web page “About Us”.
