What a beautiful day at the Lake. Cool morning, warm mid-day, and a slight cooling breeze to keep everyone comfortable.
We had a wonderful day of camaraderie, light games, and good food. The club provided the grilled goods (hamburgers/Cheeseburgers, Brats) with everything else potluck. Potluck goodies included all kinds of salad dishes (Potato, macaroni, Couscous, Pasta), a big pot of baked beans, and a delicious watermelon. Deserts included brownies, cookies, cheesecake, and several pies. Everything was delicious.
We had 31 members participate, displaying 16 classic cars in our reserved parking area. It made for a nice little car show for the other people at the lake.
We had not planned on doing a raffle, but Dick Pinta wanted to give away some Poway Cruisers memorabilia, so we raffled off a Poway Cruisers Clock and a Metal Logo Sign. Bill Bryan won the Clock, with Travis Williams taking home the logo sign.
All together, it was a very pleasant way to spend a Saturday. Thanks a bunch to everyone who helped with the setup in the morning and cleanup in the afternoon. We left the area in better shape than we found it.
A special thanks to Lynda Bryan for providing a huge box of fresh donuts for the setup crew. They were very tasty and much appreciated.
