Upcoming Car Shows/Events/Car Club Council Meeting
4/22, Sunday 9a-3p: XX Heartbeat Happening Car Show, Bates Nut Farm, Woods Valley Rd, Valley Center. Always a favorite of the club. We’ll muster in the Rancho Bernardo Mercado Shopping Center parking lot and head for the show at 6:15a. We want to get there earlier, but most of us just can’t get going any earlier. Let me know if you attending, we’ll try to save space.
We’re up to 12 cars so far: Jerry & Bonnie Badders in their ’67 Chevrolet Chevelle, Bill & Lynn Bryan in their ’71 Olds Cutlass, Ron & Kathy Shedd and their ’69 Camaro, Earl & Bessie Asbury in one of his fine rides, Dick & Earlene Blank and their ’55 Ford Crown Vic, Fred & Pat Adler driving one of their Porsches or the Rampside, Jack Brackx in his ’70 Cadillac, Ed VanLaningham & Lana Thompson in his ’65 Ford Falcon Convertible, Chuck Kramer with his ’37 Chevrolet Pickup, Walter Borra and his ’34 Chevrolet Sedan, Jerry Reed and his ’32 Chevrolet, and Joyce and me in our ’37 Buick.
4/22, Sunday, 10a-3p: Poway Street Fair Madam Mechanic Car Show, in the parking lot at 13616 Poway Rd (Credit Union Parking Lot on the corner). This is a free show.
So far we have 7 cars signed up: Fred Kokaska and his ’61 Corvette, Pete & Lynn Lutz and their ’68 Camaro, Dale & Dee Harbrueger in their ’57 Chevy, and Bob Jacoby and Carol in his ’30 Model A 5 window coupe, Mitchell Gladow and his ’20 Ford T-Bucket, John McDowell and his ’38 Ford, Ed & Carol Asbury in their ’67 GTO. I’m sure there’s plenty of room for more. Just make sure Karen Dunn knows your coming.
4/25, Wednesday, 5p-7p: Hamburger Factory Cruise In (Opening Night), Hamburger Factory (HF) Overflow Parking lot, Old Poway Park. This is the first of the monthly events running through September. We’ll have some HF meal vouchers to give away, and a few door prizes. Come and hang out for a couple of hours, maybe have a good meal at the hamburger Factory. Hope to see you all there.
4/29, Sunday, 10a-3p:, Motor Cars on Main Street 2018, Isabella & Orange, Coronado. Several members have indicated they plan to attend. Let me know if you also going and I’ll try to coordinate a caravan.

5/5, Saturday, 11a-2p: In-N-Out Burger Cruise In, Community Rd & Scripps Poway Parkway, Kohls Parking Lot. Fee Show, open to all makes, years, and models. All clubs are welcome.
5/6, Sunday, 8a-1p, Early V8 Ford Club all Ford Picnic, Santee Lakes Park, 9310 Fanita Pkwy, Santee. This is a free show, but Santee charges you $5.00 to park. All Fords all years welcome.
So far I know of only 1 member going: Ron & Kathy Shedd with their ’40 Ford 2 Dr. I’m sure they’d love some company.
5/6, Sunday, 8a-2p, 3rd Annual Eye Candy Car & Bike Show, Pal Joey’s, 5147 Waring Rd, San Diego. Show benefits the Braille Institute of San Diego. Open to all makes, years, and models.
So far only Ed & Carol Asbury in their ’67 Pontiac GTO, and Joyce and me in our ’37 Buick are signed up. More the merrier!
5/11, 12, 13, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, OTHGSD Streak 45 at Campland on the Bay. The Campland is sold out, but I understand there are still openings for participants that do not camp on site. Check the OTHGSD website for more information:

5/19, Saturday, 9a-3p: 16th Annual MNCC Run to the Hills, Old Highway 80, Pine Valley.
We currently have 3 cars signed up: Ed & Carol Asbury and their ’67 GTO, Jerry & Bonnie Badders and their ’67 Chevelle, and Joyce an me in our ’37 Buick. Poway Cruisers have taken home the Club Participation Award for the last 3 years.
5/23, Wednesday, 5p-7p: Hamburger Factory Cruise In, Hamburger Factory (HF) Overflow Parking lot, Old Poway Park. This is the second of the monthly events running through September. 5/26, Saturday, 9a-3p: American Heritage Car Show, Grape Day Park, Escondido.
We have 7 cars signed up so far: Jerry & Bonnie Badders in their ’67 Chevelle, Ron & Kathy Shedd in their ’69 Camaro, Earl Asbury & Bessie in one of his great cars, Ed & carol Asbury in their ’67 GTO, Gerrie & Mary Ann Griffin in their ’30 Ford Model A Sedan, Bill & Lynn Bryan in their ’71 Olds Cutlass, and Joyce and me in our ’37 Buick. Plenty of room for more.
