2015 PC’s at the SD Fair June 17,

What an affair! A wonderful day at A Fair to Remember.

As planned, 8 cars mustered at the Haggen Food and Grocery in Carmel Mountain Ranch at 8:15 AM, and departed for the Fair at 8:30 AM. We took the leisurely drive through Fairbanks Ranch, rather than subject ourselves and vehicles to the stress and strife of freeway driving on a Tuesday morning.  We arrived well ahead of schedule and waited for Bob Meigs the show coordinator to arrive.

 Making the drive were:

Del Mar 17 02

George & Joyce Cowman (Wagon Masters) in their 1937 Buick Special Coupe Custom

Del Mar 17 07

Bill & Linda Bryan and their 1937 Ford 2dr Sedan

Del Mar 17 05

Earl Asbury’s  1929 Model A Sedan Delivery received the People’s Choice Award

Del Mar 17 06

Ron & Kathy Shedd’s super cool 1940 Ford 2dr Sedan

Del Mar 17 08

Sam & Brenda Grinceri’s Orange 1932 Ford Roadster

Del Mar 17 09

Rick & Linda Milford’s radical 1931 Ford 2dr Vicky Sedan

Del Mar 17 10

Jerry Badders & Bonnie Drylie’s resurrected 1968 Camaro

Del Mar 17 13

Tom Berry & his grand kids in his 1965 Ford Thunderbird

At just a few minutes after 9:30, we entered the show area and parked just in front (trackside) and toward the east end of the Del Mar Track Grandstands.  We shared the show today with the Early Ford V8 Club, which displayed 6 vehicles.

We were just steps away from the fair midway, food venders, livestock, horse shows, every commercial vender you could think of, and carnival. Great location! We got parked, did a little dusting and staging, then headed for the cinnamon rolls and funnel cakes.

Everyone then spent the remainder of the morning and early afternoon enjoying what the Fair had to offer. Around 2:35 PM, Bob Meigs called us all together, thanked everyone for putting on a very successful showing, presented each car with a very nicely done show placard, and awarded Earl Asbury’s Model A the People’s Choice Award for the show. Then we were out of there, on our way home by 3:00 PM.

Everyone had a very enjoyable day at the Fair.
