San Diego County Fair Car Show June 22, 2017

The day started out cool and a little foggy, with 7 cars in our little caravan. We meet up at 8:15 in the Carmel Mountain 7/11 parking lot and departed at 8:30 AM and took the back roads passed Rancho Penasquitos through Fairbanks Ranch and into the fair arriving at 9:10 AM.  Gerald Desoto in his ’68 Mustang Coupe joined us as we approached the fairgrounds bringing our group to 8. We were joined in the staging area by 6 cars from the San Diego Miata Club. Bob Meigs joined the crowd about 9:30 and escorted us all into the fairgrounds. We all got parked and checked in by 10:15AM and everyone went looking for their morning meal.  As usual, there was an endless variety of food venders to choose. Everyone enjoyed the fair for about 5 hours, then gathered at the show to see which of the 14 vehicles the public liked the best.  It was Dick & Earlene Blank’s ’55 Ford Crown Victoria. Congratulations, Dick & Earlene! Everyone was on the road home by 3:00PM. Check out the pictures below.
